Alma Gastineau

A letter from Alma Gastineau:

“I was born in Cincinnati Ohio. Then at the age of seven, my family moved to Indiana where my dad, Roscoe, farmed. He married Vera Leigh in Kentucky. Walter and Minnie Leigh are my grandparent. Walter and Minnie were from Somerset or Science Hill, Kentucky. Here is a picture of our family at Christmas time. Everybody except my youngest daughter’s husband was present. Bruce, her husband, in in the Army and is stationed in Germany. Bill and I have two daughters, one son, and three granddaughters. I remember grandma and grandpa Calder which were Minnie Leigh’s father and mother. I graduated from Francisville High School and married Bill Long in June 1949. We have been married thirty four years this June. The farm has been in the Long for a hundred years. I loved my grandma and grandpa Leigh and I spent every summer with them in Kentucky.”
