Lula Belle Godby,, Science Hill, died June 3, 1983 at the Humana Hospital. She was 85 years old. She was born in Casey County on Jan. 4, 1898, the daughter of John and Sarah Young Calder. She was first married to Perry Spear, who died in April 1939. She then married S.R. Godby, who survives. She was a former retail clerk and was a member of Science Hill Methodist Church. Surviving besides her husband are: two sons, Paul W. Spear of Kansas City, Mo., and James F.L. Spear, Cincinnati; a daughter, Virginia L. Anderson, Indianapolis; 10 stepchildren, Louise Butt, Eubank. Kathrvn Dugan, Atlantic City, N.J., Lois Hamm, Danville, Joe Godby, Owenton, Geneva Randall, M.A. Lee, Ned, ray and Coy Godby, all of Science Hill; a brother, Clarence Calder, Crawfordsville, Ind.; a sister, Minnie Leigh, Grayson; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were June 5 at the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with the Revs. Stan S chilffarth and Allen Moran officiating. Burial was in Oak Hills Memorial Gardens, Crawfordsville, Ind.
